Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This policy defines acceptable use of the STEM Impact Academy platform for all users including students, teachers, school administrators, and parents. By using the platform, you agree to abide by these guidelines.

2. General Conduct

All users of the platform must:

  • Use the platform for educational purposes
  • Respect other users and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Maintain the security of their account credentials
  • Comply with their school's policies and code of conduct

3. Prohibited Activities

Users must not:

  • Share login credentials or access other users' accounts
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or exploit platform vulnerabilities
  • Submit plagiarized work or engage in academic dishonesty
  • Harass, bully, or discriminate against other users
  • Use the platform for commercial purposes unrelated to education
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or scrape platform content
  • Circumvent security measures or access restrictions
  • Upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content

4. Student-Specific Rules

In addition to the general conduct guidelines, students must:

  • Complete their own work and submit original assignments
  • Use coding labs and interactive tools responsibly
  • Report bugs or issues rather than exploit them
  • Respect the intellectual property of course content and materials

5. Teacher & Administrator Responsibilities

Teachers and school administrators must:

  • Supervise student activity within their classrooms and groups
  • Protect student data and maintain confidentiality
  • Use administrative privileges appropriately and responsibly
  • Report policy violations to the platform support team

6. Content Standards

All content uploaded to the platform — including submissions, projects, and forum posts — must be:

  • Educational in nature
  • Original or properly attributed
  • Free from hate speech, discrimination, or harassment
  • Appropriate for a school environment

7. Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action proportional to the severity of the violation, including:

  • A formal warning
  • Temporary suspension of platform access
  • Permanent account termination
  • Notification to the relevant school administrator

8. Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience a violation of this policy, please contact us at support@stemimpactcenterkenya.org or use the platform's built-in reporting features. All reports are investigated within 48 hours.
