Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and maintain your session. Some data we store uses similar technologies such as localStorage, which keeps information in your browser rather than as a traditional cookie.
2. Cookies We Use
STEM Impact Academy uses a minimal set of cookies, all of which are essential for the platform to function correctly:
- __session — Authentication session cookie. HTTP-only, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Duration: 14 days. Essential.
- __csrf — Cross-site request forgery protection. HTTP-only. Duration: session. Essential.
- sic_cookie_consent — Records your cookie consent preference. localStorage (not a cookie). Duration: persistent. Essential.
3. What We Do NOT Use
We are committed to your privacy. STEM Impact Academy does not use:
- Advertising cookies
- Third-party tracking cookies
- Analytics cookies
- Social media cookies
4. Third-Party Cookies
When you explicitly connect your account to Google Classroom, Google may set its own cookies to manage that integration. These cookies are governed by Google's cookie policy, not ours. No third-party cookies are set unless you initiate the Google Classroom connection.
5. Managing Cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies under their privacy or security preferences. However, please note that disabling essential cookies (such as __session and __csrf) will prevent you from logging in and using the platform.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
7. Contact
